
SCIENCE OLYMPIAD MISSION |
The Science Olympiad Mission is to improve the quality of K-12 Science Education throughout the nation. The Science Olympiad vision to accomplish this mission is: 2. To improve the quality of K-12 science education throughout the nation to change the way science is perceived and the way it is taught (with an emphasis on problem solving skills and hands-on, minds-on constructivist learning practices.). 3. To celebrate and recognize the outstanding achievement of both students an teachers in the areas of science and technology by awarding thousands of certificates, medals, and scholarships. 4.To promote partnerships among community, businesses, industry, government and education. Over 45,000 volunteers represent these groups at Science Olympiad events. |
TENNESSEE SCIENCE GOVERNING BOARD |
| The Tennessee Science Olympiad Governing Board set the policy for the Science Olympiad program statewide, as well as overseeing the Regional and State Tournaments. The Governing Board membership consists of the State Science Olympiad Director, the Regional and State Tournament Directors, a Coach Representative from each region, and several Corporate members. |
